It's all about a DIY

OMG...my friend turned me on to this blog..WHAT!! Ever since I started this wedding planning I've become obsessed with a DIY project because let's be honest with my wedding budget this is what it's going to be. HA! This woman makes the coolest stuff. I feel like everything in my closet could be made in to something else..but we're concentrating on the wedding here not growing my wardrobe.

Check out this DIY necklace...LOVE!! She also has a book. You can buy it here.

Obsessed- Vintage Wedding

I'm OBSESSED with this vintage wedding feel and I love the couple....they remind me of Edward and Bella..HA! The photos were taken by Three Nails Photography. I called them to see if they were available on 11.11.11 but they were busy...bummer.

I got so inspired by a lot of the things they did in their wedding. Coke bottles...YES!
I like the colors of the bouquet too.

Check out ALL their wedding photos on my new FAV blog:

So much to do..short list

OK....here's a short list of what I think every bride needs to start with:

What's your budget?
Figure out how many people you want to invite.
Get venue.
Shop for dress.
Along the way check out wedding blogs and magazines for inspiration: These are some of my favorite.
Oncewed.com
I've been putting together ALL my ideas on my inspiration document. (I uploaded it to my google docs and invited my friends to it so they can give me tips. )
Next I'm meeting with my designer to come up with a theme and color ways.
Take photos or visit venue so you know how much space you're working with.
Then meet with caterer...AHHH...Get ready LET'S GO!!!

Team ML/Robert Wedding Planning Commity

I have the most amazing friends in the world!! My friends back home rallied and teamed up to help me plan my perfect wedding so far away!! I love them so much. GO TEAM ML/Robert's Wedding.

Let me introduce them:

Didi Gurr: I've known since Jr. High.  Boy do we have some memories together. She was the first person to take me to Mexico (past 11:30 pm). She used to be the catering manager at The Lodge at Tory Pines and is highly organized, super stylish and gets it done.

Dahvia Lynch: I've known since Jr. High. We spent our high school years sneaking out and spying on people...don't ask. She is one of the most caring people I know and believes in me so much. I don't know what I would do with out her in my life.

Cris Whittaker: I've known her for almost 10 years. We met at work and she has become one of my dearest friends. She is a friend who ALWAYS has my back and I'll ALWAYS have hers. We are known for laughing a ton, bloody marys and a damn good garage sale! Her go getter attitude is going to be priceless for my wedding.

Heather Mathis: I've known since High School. She had a car before all of us so she was always toting us around. She owns her own wedding consulting company called Amorology  and her designs are AMAZING!! I'm  hoping to work with her in between her busy schedule.

WHERE IN SD IS IT RUSTIC??

With San Diego being the destination place for our wedding I hopped on a plane to do a little research....and soak in some sun!!

First stop right when I got off the plane was Dahvia's roof top in down town SD. It over looks Petco park and fits roughly around 200. It's a great spot for a party but not right vibe for the wedding or ceremony...BUT a BBQ rehearsal dinner could be great.

Next stop was Didi's house for a little champagne and wedding talk with Dahvia, Cris and Didi (hostess with the mostess). Didi used to be a catering manager at Tory Pines Lodge so she knows a few things about planning a wedding. We discussed rustic spots and The Olivenhain Meeting Hall was suggested. This is the PERFECT rustic place to get married!! (see photo below) I got SO EXCITED!! I sent an email to the scheduler asking to reserve the date. Fingers crossed!!
